Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Lilly the Coonhound
Lilly the Coonhound

Hi Maggie, Here are some pictures I thought you'd like to see. Lilly is doing great and has REALLY made herself at home. You didn't tell me she was so sassy!! When I tell her "no" she looks at me and starts barking. It's sooooo funny cuz she acts like she's talking back to me. I will tell her not to be so sassy and she just barks even more. I have to laugh at her because it actually looks like we are carrying on a conversation!!! Jim came into the living room one day while we were "talking" and asked what kind of conversation we were having. I hope you enjoy seeing her again. She's such a sweetheart!! She still goes nuts when I leave the house, but hopefully, as she matures that behavior will go away. She really loves it when Jazmine and Belle come stay with us.........they run like crazy in the back yard!! Take care and write when you have a free minute. Sandi Fox

Elsa the Yorkie
Elsa the Yorkie

Hello Colleen – Please be sure to pass this to all interested. Elsa the Yorkie…is now Judy. Okay tell Judy this is with the utmost respect. My biker husband decided this was a good name. I also have always love Judy Garland in The wizard of Oz with Toto (Cairn terrier, I know), but still small cute and a terrier none the less. Judy is doing fine. Getting along with Bandit very well. He is glad to have her as a companion and so are we!! She sits, speaks on command and gives her paw. She loves our wet food, but when hungry will also learn to love the dry (we get our food Calif. Naturals at Louise’s Pet connection). She has a beautiful pink harness and leash, a tiny little sweakie toy and a soft little bed. She went to pet’s mart for a flea bath and to have her ears trimmed. She is really good about taking her antibiotic wrapped in cheese, and putting up with her ear cleaning and medication. She is a total delight and it feels like we have always had her! Will keep in touch and send pics too. Thank you all for all you do! Linda

Arlo the Plott Hound
Arlo the Plott Hound

Good morning! Wanted you to know Gibbs is doing so wonderful. For being in a new place, he has just settled in very nicely. And he's so smart! All I have to do is tell him or show him what to do once, and he's pretty much good to go from there. Oh, his whole name is Special Agent Jethro Gibbs...don't know if you watch NCIS, but Mark Harmon's character is one of my favorites. He's strong, silent, handsome, and always investigating something and that is exactly what Gibbs (the dog) is! So that's where the name came from. I still need to send pics to you. I laugh so hard when he gets to running in the back yard, then starts his bounding thing. It's hilarious. Anyway. Hope your day is good.

Joey the Pointer Puppy
Joey the Pointer Puppy

We had to change Joey's name to Riley, as my son-in-law and grandson have the same name-we went to the vet today and Riley is doing well-weighs 15 lbs had a shot and Comfortis pill with his lunch for fleas-He is doing really well- Riley goes back to the vet next month-the puppy biting is getting under control- Riley enjoys the back yard and the screened pool area-He is getting 5 short walks a day-Susan I can not thank you enough for the housebreaking routine you had with him-he has only had 3 accidents and it was our fault for not getting him out quick enough-he goes to the back door and asks to go out sometimes it is only to explore and since it is still hot we do not stay out very long-Thank you for allowing us to have Riley and thank you for the great unselfish work that you all do at Pet Recue by Judy-

Bowser the Puppy
Bowser the Puppy

Just wanted to send you an update on Bowser/Dante. We love Dante! He couldn't be a better dog. Whoever is foster parents were did a great job training him or he's just a naturally good dog. Either way, we're very happy with him. He's pretty much fully potty trained (though he was well on his way when we got him). We've taken him to Winter Park Vet. Hospital for his regular shots and checkups and he's a healthy pup. We've enrolled him in dog training at our local Petsmart and he's the head of his class (or at least we like to think so). He loves Fleet Peeples Dog Park in Winter Park. He does very well with the other dogs and loves the water. He still sleeps alot and is doing so as I write you this email. We love him so much and just wanted to thank you and everyone at Judy's Pet Rescue. We only wish we could have adopted his brother and sisters. I've included some new pics of Dante in this email. Sincerely, Mark and Natalie
