We rescued this littler of 8 from a private owner. This is why we strongly recommend spay/neuter for all dogs to prevent "Oops" litters like this one!  We know we can find these sweet puppies a great home whom will love and care for them dearly. Their mother was a brindle Lab blend and their father was thought to be a Terrier.

Foster Update:  Shallie is a very sweet, loving, mischevious and energetic puppy. She loves to try to mix things up when she sees our big lab. This puppy has no fear! I was outside with her and her siblings in the yard one evening with the flashlight and I set the flashlight down to pick up something and no sooner had I set it down than Shallie grabbed it and started running full speed with the flashlight in her mouth across the yard - really just wanting me to chase her! It was quite comical, but that's Shallie - always curious, always fun and always entertaining. She does have a very sweet side, however, and will settle down and cuddle with you. She loves to give kisses, and there is nothing she loves more than having her belly rubbed! She is, in our opinion, the most intelligent of the whole litter. She eats Evangers food twice a day and sleeps in a crate with her siblings Teddy and Sage. She goes potty outside as soon as you bring her out of the crate.  In fact, all of the puppies in this litter were excellent about that from when we first got them nearly a month ago.

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
