Description: We rescued this littler of 8 from a private owner. This is why we strongly recommend spay/neuter for all dogs to prevent "Oops" litters like this one! We know we can find these sweet puppies a great home whom will love and care for them dearly. Their mother was a brindle Lab blend and their father was thought to be a Terrier.
Foster Update: Emma has the prettiest face and is very sweet looking. She likes to be held and gives a lot of kisses. Emma is a special little girl. She is very playful and is always in the play yard with her siblings. She loves playing with toys especially those that squeak and make noises. Tug of war is one of the favorite games played inside and outside. She gets along well with our dogs. I do not have a cat. She loves playing in the yard with her siblings and Beauty, my little girl dog. She is fed twice a day. She is fed Pedigree dry and canned puppy food as well as a little bit of yogurt. The canned food is given only in the morning. Treats are well received by her. She is given soft Milkbones or regular puppy Milkbones or Pupperonies twice a day. That is midmorning and midafternoon. She will eat any time there is food given to her. Emmy will make a graet addition to your new forever home.
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
