Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Gonzo the Good Hound
Gonzo the Good Hound

Gonzo is doing fantastic. He has died and gone to heaven. :) 3 small meals a day, chasing me while I mow the lawn, playing with Tuxie, sleeping on the bed, fresh water with ice cubes, treats....what more could a dog ask for?? He LOVES the acreage and all the love we are giving him....I think I will keep him ;) He is VERY SMART yet VERY CLUMSY and never a dull moment. He fits right in to our family. I will send pics when I have a chance...he doesn't sit still much! Thanks so much!!!!! No worries, HE IS LOVED!!!!!! Jennifer

Ginny the Davis Rat Terrier Mama

Just a quick note to give you guys an update on our sweet pups! Bella and Rowdy have fit in so well with our family! The kids are really taking to them and vice versa with the pups! Bella and Rowdy have adjusted well to our busy household. The kids love to take them everywhere we go, they really enjoy showing them off. Rowdy is almost totally housetrained and Bella was already housetrained. Bella has recovered well from the pneumonia and all her blood counts are back to normal. She is so laidback and enjoys our snuggle time. Rowdy is coming into his own and is a climber! It's so funny when he gets excited while playing he can scale most anything in seconds...even a tall kitchen chair! The have the run of the house and are so well behaved. I have enclosed a few pictures of Bella's x-rays and a picture of the kids. You can see little BB's and a Pellet as well as her microchip in the films...So heartbreaking to see what she went through. But it makes me even more thankful for finding them and giving them the life they so deserve. Thank you all again for opening your hearts and lives to these so deserving animals and for allowing us to be Bella and Rowdy's new family! Shane, Sarah, Peyton, Blaine, and Morgan

German the Declawed Tabby

Our new cat is doing just fine. He is the most lovable cat we have ever had! We don't call him "German" however. In checking the paper work that came with him we found out that German was the name of the staff member who brought him to the adoption agency. We have tried calling him German and every name we could think of and he doesn't respond. There was a couple of times he responded to "baby" so that is what we are calling him. I am not a computer person but if I can find out how to send a photo on e-mail, I will send you one. Thanks so much for your follow-up.

Gali the Baby Jack
Gali the Baby Jack

Lucy (formerly Gali) seems to be very happy in her new home. She is quite the cuddler and loves to be close. She also is learning to sit, release her ball/toys during play and has taken to walking at heel on the leash quite naturally. I think we really overtired her on Saturday, as she ended up falling asleep in Christine's lap on Saturday night. I took her out every four hours just to make sure she wouldn't have any accidents, and she did her business just fine. She did whine a bit on Saturday night, probably missing her siblings, but I put a treat in her cage, didn't make a big deal about it, and she munched on it and quieted down. I also turned on a nightlight for her, which also seemed to help ease any anxiety. On Sunday, literally woke her up (!) at 430 (she really didn't want to get up at first, and I had to get down and pick her up to bring her out) and so today, let her sleep in until 530 when I got up, and she seemed to be a lot happier. She didn't eat a lot on Saturday night or Sunday AM, but chowed down on Sunday night and this AM. We couldn't find cocoanut oil (the stuff at our Publix resembled Crisco) so we spritzed on a very small amount of olive oil with a mister, and that seemed to make her very happy. She was pretty tuckered out last night, and "slept in" from 11 on. She also took to her new crate, bed, toys and surroundings pretty much right away. We introduced her and our bunny, and I think she thinks the bunny is a puppy and wanted to play. Bunny was a bit standoffish and thumped, and she took that quickly as he wanted to be left alone. She's doing great and is very playful, friendly and VERY smart. Thanks again, Brian

Griffy the Lover
Griffy the Lover

5/28/2013: I cannot thank you enough for your help in my adopting Max and Griffy. It is amazing how quickly we have become best friends. I had a doggy door installed so they travel freely (and quite frequently I might add :) ) from inside to the fenced in back yard where they play ball and frisbee and run at lightning speed ! They are such great company. We run/walk/jog at least 2 miles together every night, so they help keep me active too! They have been to the vet and we decided to keep them on the trifexis for now since we are running the trails where the ground isn't treated for fleas etc like my yard. They are full of energy and excellent watch dogs also ! Thank you Thank you !!! Paula and "The Boys"
