Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Elwood "A Bonded Pair"

Hi Judy,

We are moving and wanted to give you our new address.  We have purchased a home with 11 acres and are fencing about 3 of them for Jake and Elwood to have a backyard area.   We plan on rescuing a couple more dogs up there once we are settled and the fence is complete. That is if Jake and Elwood approve of course.

These boys are the loves of our lives and we are so thankful for the work you and your staff do so that people like Scott and I can find our forever babies.

Best, Gail and Scott

Elwood

Judy and Team,

I know we haven’t kept you all up to date as often as we would have hoped, but I wanted to share these photos with you. We adopted Elwood back in October of 2017. Since the day we brought him home our entire family has been in love with him. He brings so much joy to our lives each and every day. He is happy, healthy and full of life. We play with him each and every day, get him exercise and at least once a week he goes to puppy daycare with his best friends Murphy, Milo and Piper where they can run around and play in a safe environment. He has made so many friends since he has been with us; even our neighbors adore him and spoil him rotten. We want to say thank you so very much for giving us the opportunity to adopt this amazing boy, he is so full of love and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

P.S. We will try to do better to update you on a regular basis and provide some more super awesome photos of our Elwood.

Emmie the Wannabe Lap Dog

Hi Barb and Judy,

Just wanted to touch base as we come into the first holidays with Emmie .

Emmie has been doing very well, she loves walk times and has become besties with my friend’s beagle/jack Russell mix named Snow. They can spend hours playing and wrestling. Emmie loves for snow to chase her around the yard.

She and Zulu get a long, though Zulu mostly sleeps during the day so they don’t play much. Zulu is starting to slow down in her advanced age and Emmie has been watching out for her. If Zulu needs to go out and I didn’t hear her, Emmie and come and get me for Zulu.

We are still working on Emmie ’s anxiety, both in general and during rain. On the whole it’s decreased as she’s gained confidence through play dates with snow. Now she’s usually fine during regular storms. Heavy thunder and she’s still not comfortable but she will just stick close to me when that happens.

She’s been a great addition to the house.

Have a merry Christmas!

-Eric

Elwood

Just wanted to give you an update on Elwood (we liked and kept his name). He is doing great and is very affectionate. He is also very inquisitive. Elwood has blended in wonderfully with our family. He loves to get a belly rub and snuggle. He went to the dog park for the first time this past weekend and was a hit. He also did great with his bath.

Ellen

Good morning Carol!,

So Ellen has been doing pretty good. As expected we’re molding her typical puppy behavior(I.e. jumping and wanting to get into things) but she has already begun picking up on some things. She loves the yard, our neighbors dog, and alllllllll the cuddle and loves we give her. I’m going to try and attach a quick video clip of her playing along my fence with the neighbors dog and a pic of her saying hi to daddy(me). :)

Regards
Hector
