Description:

Yazhi tends to be the sweet, little girl kitty of her siblings.  She just sits and stares at me...purring...until I turn and look at her.  She then wants on my lap.  She has a soulful look when waiting for her recognition.  She is very affectionate but not quite as "demanding" in the desire for the affection as the others.  If she had her way, she would lay on my lap all night, purring, while I was working on the computer!

Like her siblings, she likes to make playtime out of making the bed and changing the sheets!  That's okay...we all have fun!

Yazhi is "little one" in the Native American Navajo language.

03.30.09 Foster Update:
Yazhi has come into her own. She has the sweetest disposition. When I walk into the kitties room, she is the one "squeaking" (I think she is say, "I love you!") She just sits there and looks up at me as though asking me to pick her up. She's very, very cute!

04.05.09 Foster Update:
I've introduced the Shima (mama's name) kitties to dogs. They are great with them. We're talking 45-65 lb dogs!

Sometimes I just lay on the floor and let all four of the kittens crawl around on me - which they love to do. It's kind of like getting a massage. So, if you like massages you might want to consider adopting all four kittens!

04.17.09 Foster Update:  These kitties are such a joy!  They really are lovers...and all have their own little wants and needs...but mainly just want your attention once they are through playing with their siblings.

Yazhi tends to be a "ball of fire" with her brother.  They love pouncing and wrestling!  There is a photo of them laying together resting after playing.  Also, look how much these kittens love each other...there is a photo of all four of them laying all over each other.

I noticed that Yazhi and her sister, Maira, have these real neat markings on the side of their faces.  While their mama was a Calico, Daddy must have had some tiger-stripe in him.  They each have these burnt orange tiger-stripe markings running from their eyes to the side of their face...almost like orange mascara lines!  These markings seem to be surfacing more as they get older.  You can kind of see the markings in one of the photos where Yazhi is sitting in the flower pot.

05.23.09 Foster Update:  These kittens have not been with me for several weeks.  Everytime I went into the Center, I would go see them.  It amazes me how they continue to be very close to each other.  They love nothing more than to be cuddled up with each other (unless there is a human available).  I'm trying desperately to have access to my keyboard right now but two of them want to lay on my lap and prevent me from reaching the keyboard.

Yazhi just loves me.  It's funny how she has migrated back to being exactly how she was when she was here before - right in my lap!  I can change positions, I can get up and carry her, I can lay down and put her on my stomach...she still stays where I am.  She loves to situate herself so she can just look up at me.  She is just so sweet.  Whoever decides to adopte Yazhi will be very glad they did.

05.29.09 Foster Update:  I still say Yazhi is part monkey.  She will jump just to sit on my shoulder.  She will then walk down my arm like it's a tight-rope.  Oh, and she's one of those kittens that likes to follow the mouse pointer on the computer screen.

I think what amazes me about these four is how much they continue to love each other.  They would love to do nothing than to lay all over each other (unless, of course, they are on my lap).  I came home from work today to them.  They could have all had their own room but, nope, they are all on the same pillow snuggled up together.

08.21.09 Foster Update:  There isn't a whole lot more I can say about this sweet little girl other than she is lookin' for love.  She would love to be on my lap all day and all night long.  If I'm laying on the sofa, she will lay on the back of the sofa by me.  When she looks at me, I feel like she is trying to tell me she really wants her "forever human".  Oh yes, and right now she is laying on my lap, looking up at me, and purring. : )

The first twenty-four hours in your home are special and critical. According to the ASPCA, before you bring a new cat into your life, it helps to understand a little bit about how cats relate to their world.

For the cat, territory is of paramount importance. A cat views his territory the way most of us view our clothes; without them, we feel naked
