Description:

Foster Update 5/22/12: Baboo is doing so well in his foster home. he is a complete love. He is playful, sweet, affectionate and loving with people, dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. Although he is a neutered male, Baboo is a surrogate Mom for his younger foster companions. He washes them, chirps to them and even lets them suckle on him!

His prolapsed rectum has gone back in and he is now like any other Manx! No more bottom wiping for Baboo! He has been seen by vet specialists at AVS and they did say that his rectum could pop back out if he is stressed or if he gets worms (through straining) but x-rays showed that there was no abnormality of his spine (other than being a Manx) and that everything was looking good.

Baboo must have a friendly feline companion or two as he is so social and loves to play. He is very bonded with Otto, a younger DSH brown tabby foster. Wherever Baboo is, Otto will surely be right behind him. It is very sweet!

Foster Update 11/29/11: Baboo is a little darling! So small for his age but with a big personality. He isn't a rambunctious kitten. Although he plays like a normal kitten, he really prefers to be with his people. He is a complete lap hog. As soon as anyone sits down, he is on their laps, purring up a storm. He loves everyone but seems to prefer men. He sleeps on the bed with his foster Mom and Dad, nestled either on their pillows or on their chests. He gets on well with the resident cats and dogs of all sizes and ages.

Baboo has a protuding rectum. It is not uncommon in the Manx breed but Baboo's first owner tried to have it surgerically altered. Unfortunately it wasn't a success. If left, the rectum will sometimes retract as the cat gets older but because of the failed surgery, this is unlikely to happen for poor Baboo. He uses the litter box just fine but he occassionally needs his bottom wiped for him!
