Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Allie (formerly Ezze) is doing great! I have attached two pictures so you can see her. Feel free to forward them to your group - I know Judy, Amanda, and some of the other volunteers had asked me to share pics of her as she grew :) We absolutely love her and are thinking about getting a friend for her. We actually had to go to Lake Mary, Oviedo, and Sanford to get her because there was a misunderstanding about where she was and where the paperwork was :) I believe they kept the final paperwork at Sanford because that is where we got her tags. I actually submitted two applications, so I am not sure if you got both of them - I applied to meet Ivanhoe and Orion the black lab puppy. We also think Orion would be a great fit for Allie since they are both similar age labs. We walk our dog(s) twice a day, morning and evening, and also have lots of playtime in between chasing balls, etc. A new dog would join us on our daily walks, jogs when they are older and it's cooler out, and we also like to hike occasionally and go to the doggie beach and pet-friendly parks nearby. In our 3 months with Allie, we have successfully trained her to sit, lie down, stay, let go, roll over, walk on a leash, go potty outside, and speak on command. We are still working on teaching her not to jump on people and not to nip or nibble. We have noticed that having a rope toy or kong chew toy around helps. She has never chewed or destroyed any of our belongings. With jumping we are saying "No" and turning around to "ignore" the behavior. But she is still an 7.5 month old and still gets excited. We absolutely love her and would love to meet Orion and/or Ivanhoe to see if either of them are a good match for us and Allie (Ezze). Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly!
