Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Gideon the Min Pin

Hi Judy, We have more great news to share....Oscar (Gideon) is now also heartworm free after using the slow kill method for approximately 18 months! Both boys (Gideon and Wishbone) are good, active, and healthy, it's a very happy day! As you may recall, Benny (Wishbone) became heartworm free after a year of treatment. I hope that others considering adopting a heartworm + positive pup will read this update and understand that these dogs can go on to live very long healthy lives. Thanks again for what you and your staff do. My boys, Oscar and Benny, tell us that you are all angels and that's how they earned their wings! Love to all, Rachel & Todd

Gator the American Bulldog
Gator the American Bulldog

Gator is doing great! He has lived with us for 3 months now, and we can't remember a time when he was not here. He is the greatest dog EVER! I wanted to share his success because I feel like Gator (and other dogs like him) may be overlooked because of their color or breed. Gator has been an angel since the day he arrived. He has no bad habits and is as loyal as they come. He is truly a family dog and loves us all with equal enthusiasm. He is such a gentle giant and has become fast friends with my 3 cats :) They tolerate him and sometimes even play a little. He loves his toys and empties his toybox every day. We take him for ice cream and on play dates with other dogs and he is always such a gentleman. I hope that anyone who reads this and is considering adoption will look twice at the bulldog breeds because we could not have found a more loving and gentle addition to our family. Thanks to everyone at PRBJ! Sincerely, Marcey Kinney (feel free to use the picture)

Go Go the Hound Puppy
Go Go the Hound Puppy

We are enjoying GoGo (now Daisy) very much. She was met by a new quilt and presents from her grandparents and friends. In addition to her family of five, she has successfully met four new people. She loves her crate and is happily sleeping in it now. Thanks for all your good work. Jeannette

Groucho the Pug Mix
Groucho the Pug Mix

Hi Yvette, Groucho is doing great. He and our Lab, Jack, have been warming up to each other more and more. They have even started playing some in the back yard and chasing each other. Even though there is a pretty big difference in their sizes, they can run at about the same speed, fast! We got him a crate to hang out in while we're at work, as he still wants to mark his territory. That was to be expected though. He's done very well with everything and has gotten better and better with his food. We love having him as part of our pack. In a few months there won't been any of his Groucho side left. We are still debating changing his name, but will decide for sure by this weekend. Other than that, we're just working on getting him adjusted to his new life. Thank you for your help in the adoption process! Ryan & Laura

Guinness the St. Patrick's Day Pup

Both Tom and I want to say "Thank You" for all of your generosity to damaged and orphaned dogs. Your team does an amazing job of pairing pets with owners who love and appreciate what their new additions. You made the adoption process sooooo easy. Attached you will find some pics taken of Guiness adapting to his new home. Yesterday he took two walks on a leach around the neighborhood with his brothers Xander and Kirby. All of the neighbors gave out a special smile and congratulated on our latest addition to the family. Guinness has had no accidents in the house as of yet and has taken to his crate to sleep at night beside our bed. Tomorrow, he goes for a ride in the kayak and begins puppy training at PetSmart. Enjoy the pics and I am sure our paths will cross again. Special thoughts Karol and Tom
