Ears the Happy Go Lucky Guy
Hi Barb & family. Sorry I have not communicated in a while, but Buddy & I have been busy going & coming
to Georgia & South Carolina. This is the way he looks with his big boy hair cut. I keep him groomed fairly
short as it is cooler for him & he looks more handsome this way. I know I have told you guys this more than
once, but this Buddy of mine has made me a really happy person! I love him & know he loves me! He is my little
shadow. He & I have our together time at least 2 times a day where he lays on my lap or next to me in my chair
while I watch TV. He is so good & minds quite well. He does though have those stubborn times where I tell him
no about something & he just looks at me. He still likes to find things in my yard to eat, but I keep him in my
screened patio mostly. He loves to lay on the pavers on my pool deck. I usually rest in the afternoon a couple
days a week & I let him sleep with me on my bed. At night though he does have his own bed at the foot of mine.
He wants to always be near me so I of course I want that too. I have changed his dog food to a Senior brand as
he was having some trouble doing his #2 business. I mix a little luke warm water in his food & also some green
beans. That has worked real well. He is a frisky as ever & sure does not act his age, but that is one of the many
things I love about him. Hopefully all of your Foster Seniors get loving forever homes like Buddy. Again my
thanks to you guys for giving him such TLC while you had him & that will continue forever with me. I hope you
were able to view & enjoy the pictures. As always, Sandy
Echo the Black GSD
Wanted to give you an update on Echo. He is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. He has adjusted beautifully to our home. I hate to say this, but, I am so happy his previous homes did not work out. He is such a great part of our family. He learned all of his basic commands within days. He lets us know when he wants/needs something and is training us as well. We are working to teach him that he doesn't have to use all of his energy in the first 15 min at the dog park. He has had no issues with aggression with other dogs and gets excited and wants to play. Everyone who has met him cannot get over how well behaved and sweet he is. He loves to go for rides and behaves so well in the car and truck. I can't begin to explain the difference he has made in our lives. The feelings we get when we get home from work and he comes running to the door to greet you, then runs through the house barking to let everyone else know your home. When we get up in the morning and he is laying outside the bedroom waiting for us to get up or you get up in the middle of the night and he is stretched out on the couch or in his recliner. The humor we find in watching him pick up all of his toys when we are done playing at night and put them in his dog bed (which he doesn't sleep in. He prefers the full size bed in his room) . He has a bit of a stubborn streak (most shepherds do) that is kind of like dealing with a petulant child, but his eagerness to learn and please makes his stubbornness easy to deal with. Out of all my previous shepherds and other dogs I have worked with, he has been the easiest and most eager to learn.
Thank you for allowing us to make Echo a part of our family. He has brought so much joy and laughter to us that we had lost after losing our Readdi girl to cancer. Thank you and all of your staff/volunteers for what you do and for what you have to deal with everyday.
Sincerely,
Russ & Patt (proud parents of Echo)
Ellie Mae the Siamese Kitten
Dear Judy,
My wife and I adopted two of your cats, Ava and Ellie, two years ago and picked them up at the Oviedo Mall. They are wonderful and are doing well. Pictures attached. I now have three cats inside and am taking care of another outside. We are crazy about all of our babies and thank you and Bonnie for the foster care.
