We get a phone call from a UCF student saying he found a beautiful stray dog and can we help.  Well of couse we can help you.  She was a stray just wondering around alone in Macon Georgia, so we named her Georgianne.  When this young man saw her Georgianne came right to him.  She is friendly and would make a great new pet.
Georgianne is heartworm positive and we at PRBJ use the slow kill method which has been proven effective.  Literature will be given at time fostering/adoption and 5 months of heartguard.

Georgianne was part of our "pet for a day" program and had a wonderful time and so well- behaved.  Sweet  & loving!

FOSTER UPDATE: 6/29/15
She is extremely sweet and very loving.  She has a lab personality for sure, just in a smaller package.
About 95% house trained.  She has had 3 accidents in the 8 days we have had her
She is very calm for a 2 year old lab.  But, like a lot of labs her age she chews things.  So, it is best to keep shoes, purses, etc out of her reach
She loves playing with my lab who is twice her size.
She he very friendly and not wary of strangers.
Working on her leash manners.  She does pull and we are trying to correct that bad habit

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
