07/05/2015 Foster update:
Aaron is an incredibly loving dog who adores humans and companionship.  He has a lot of love to give.  His is highly energetic, and as a young Rottweiler, he will need a home that can afford to spend time with him daily for walks and training.  He can get over-excitable and jumps up, so a home with small children is not advisable.
He does not like cats or small dogs~  He can be okay with larger dogs, but it would be important to introduce them on neutral territory.
He will be a great dog and give a lot of love to his new forever home.  He just needs consistency and rules to ensure that a young dog's playfulness and excitability doesn't turn into unruliness. He would do best in a home with an alpha  family who is home most of the day so that he can receive lots of love, structure, activity, and consistency in training.

5/2/15 - Aaron needs a very experienced Rottweiler owner.  He needs a home without small children or animals.

Aaron came to us from a woman who found him lost and tired running through the woods. After talking to several neighbors, they came to the conclusion he was probably dumped by a owner that no longer wanted him. He is a young, energetic dog that is a total, big love.

Aaron is a very strong and powerful dog and will need an adult home.  He does not want to share his home with small dogs or cats.

*** Are you not familiar with Rottweilers? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Rottie is calm, trainable, courageous, and devoted to their owner and family. The Rottweiler is probably descended from the Italian Mastiff. During the Middle Ages, it was used as a herd dog. It was bred in the German town of Rottweil in Wurttemberg. Practically extinct in the 1800's, the breed population began a comeback in the early twentieth century due to the efforts of enthusiastic breeders centered in Stuttgart. Some of the Rottweilers talents include: tracking, herding, watchdogging, guarding, police work, carting, competitive obedience, and schutzhund. They have a reliable temperament. Protective, he will defend his family fiercely. They require owners who can handle their massive size. The Rottie is a natural guard dog with a mellow temperament. They are highly intelligent and have proven their worth beyond question in police, military, and customs work over many centuries. This breed needs a lot of companionship and socialization to be truly happy. They can be aggressive with other dogs and should be kept on leashes in public places. Friends and relatives of the family are normally enthusiastically welcomed. Strangers can get no further than the sidewalk. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
