What is a chiweenie you say..why is a chihuahua mixed with a Dachshund!  I think its a cute "breed" name its like a puggle (beagle and pug) or a labodoodle (lab and poodle). Bond came to us when his owner became too ill to care for him. He is just a little puppy and is VERY shy and scared. He takes some time to get comfortable with his enviroment and people. He has little experence with the "ouside world" has his ageing owner didn't socialize him very much. He isn't nippy but does shake and cling to you when he is in your arms. He is still working on housetraining but is very well crate trained,  so whomever adopts him should continue working with him.

Bond is with us at our house now. He is feeling better and eating good.

He has been very clean in the house as he stays in the bedroom while I am at work.  He sleeps through the night about 8-9 hours.

He is having a good time out in our large yard however he heads right back to the door when he has had enough of the great outdoors.

Chihuahua's are strong-willed, intensely loyal and become very attached to their owners, even to the point of jealousy. They like to lick their owner's faces. It is undeniably suspicious of people except for its owner. When strangers are present, it follows its owner's every move, keeping as close as possible. This breed may snap at teasing children, after all it is too tiny to get away. The Chihuahua must resort to his sharp teeth in self defense. It is not recommended for children. He can be noisy and may require patience to housebreak. Many owners simply paper train this breed. The Chihuahua hates the cold and may shiver, although this may be due to high metabolism as much as temperature or anxiety. It will tolerate and even appreciate a warm sweater on cooler days. They are good little dogs for apartment life. Although it is tempting to carry these dainty creatures about, they will keep fitter if taken for walks. A body harness is safer than a collar. Don't think that just because he is small he should be confined to a small space. Chihuahuas have a life expectancy of 15 or more years.
