Description:
05/04/2015:  Echo just came back from the dentist, yes the dentist.  He went to the Florida Institute and they pulled a bad tooth and cleaned him up beautifully.  He wanted to get ready to give you kisses when you come to adopt him.

Echo was returned to us from his previous owners.    He is a beautiful dog that just needs someone to have the patience and time to spend with him.  Echo would love his family to be home most of the day for companionship. He could make your home complete!

Foster Update 5/6/15:
Energy Level: He is very calm in the house, but very excited when he is outside.   We walk him and his sister every night.
Due to situations that Echo has been in before he has become very fearful of other dogs and is aggressive. A home where he is the only animal is best. He loves all humans of all sizes!

Obedience: He understands sit, lay down (with some coaxing), stay  (with some coaxing).

He does allow me to trim his toe-nails, clean his teeth, and clean his ears on a monthly basis.
• Training: He is house trained and will let us know if he needs to go out.  We have a cage for him when we are not home, but he does not like staying in it for too long (like his sister).

• Personality Quirks: He will try to eat anything off the tables or counter tops when we are not around (he loves eating whole loafs of bread) when we are not looking.  He tries to sneak on our bed or furniture when we are not around as well.

***According to dogbreedinfo.com, in April 1899, Capt. Max von Stephanitz registered a dog named Horan as the first Deutsche Schäferhunde, which means German Shepherd Dog in English. Known for their tremendous loyalty and courage, they are calmly confident, but not hostile. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when it is necessary. Serious and almost human in his intelligence, they have a high learning ability. The breed is so intelligent and learns so readily that it has been used as a sheepdog, guard dog, in police work, as a guide for the blind, in search and rescue service, and in the military. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. A quick daily brushing is best unless hair in the house is not a problem. They should be bathed rarely, only once or twice a year to avoid skin oil depletion. Shepherds have a life expectancy around 13 years.
