Description:

Atlas was surrendered to PRBJ when his family had to move and was unable to take him.  He is a playful little guy that is going to grow to be a BIG guy.  He has a sweet personality but can be stubborn.  He will need a dedicated owner that can work and train him while he is still young. Atlas is good with other dogs and has been around a toddler.  He is not much for walking on a leash but that will come with time.

Newfoundlands have thick coats and can get messy.  Brush their thick coat daily to remove tangles and loose fu r . Use a slicker brush first, then follow with a wide-toothed comb. Bathe every 6-8 weeks. Use a dog shampoo made for thick coats.

They also drool a lot. Similar to other large breeds, their ideal environment is a larger home with a roomy backyard.

New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We recommend the ENTIRE family attend puppy training classes. This ensures that all family member are using the same commands and techniques.

Please note a fenced yard is preferred for this baby to romp and safely play.
