Mufasa was surrendered to PRBJ because a member of the family developed severe allergies to him. He is a sweet little guy that just wants the attention of his humans. He also likes to the be a part of whatever is going on. Mufasa is housebroken, enjoys the company of other dogs (such as his buddy Scar), is crate trained, walks well on the leash. He has been around kids under 6 without any issues. He has not been around cats; however, once he is settled in we will test him with cats to get an idea. Mufasa is a loud and consistent barker if he cannot be with his humans. Unless someone is home 100% of the time, a home with shared walls (i.e., apartment, etc.) is not a good setting for him.
Miniature Schnauzers are generally bright, friendly, and trainable companions. Minis are sturdy little guys and enjoy vigorous play. They are home and family oriented and make great watchdogs. The breed has a strong prey drive, so should not be off leash when not in a fenced area as they will chase after small animals. They also need monitoring, as they can dig out of a fenced area to chase an enticing scent.

Grooming: The Miniature Schnauzer requires frequent brushing and combing. The breed sheds very little. Please allow for the expense of professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. Shampoos can be once a month or so.
