Description:

Marnie and her sisters came into PRBJ with their mom.  Unfortunately, Marnie had cherry eyes (the third eyelid gland popped out). The vet said she would need to have surgery to correct this once she was over 4 months old. Shortly after turning 5 months old, she was able to have the surgery, which was successful. Now, Marnie is ready to find her forever home.

Marnie is a VERY energetic pup that loves to run and bounce all over. She is quick and will try to leap from the couch to chairs and back to the floor. She will need an ACTIVE family that enjoys playing with her and giving her lots of attention.
She has been in a foster home with dogs and cats. The cats are used to dogs; however, they were not used to be chased by them. Since Marnie is small, the cats basically ran from her... except one who enjoys rolling around with her and playing tag.
She would do well in a home as the only pet or with another dog around her age, her energy level and size (she's a little over 5 lbs). This is because she is very active and jumps all over other dogs and does not heed their corrections when they have had too much of her jumping.
Marnie has been with kids 6-10 yrs old ; however, she is not the type to be held and snuggled, so smaller kids would be a concern due to her high energy/jumping and that she will squirm to be out of your arms and could easily get injured.
Marnie likes for you to roll the ball or throw the toy so she can play fetch. She enjoys showing off her speed as she races through the house. She is still working on her potty training and will have accidents in her crate if left too long. She does bark if she feels like you are not paying attention or while crated up and you are busy. By 6:45am, she is barking to wake someone up to let her outside. Marnie walks great on the leash and is food motivated.

Due to Marnie's long fur, she will need to be brushed daily.  Daily face washing especially near her eyes to reduce the tear stains. She will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks to keep her looking her best and to keep feet and ears sanitary.

New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.
