Description:

Ralphie was found full of fleas and wandering the streets by a man who, unfortunately, was unable to keep him, but spent weeks searching and posting for his owner.  Ralphie did well with the man and his large Pitbull.

We believe that Ralphie is young, right around a year old.  He is playful and likes being around people and even though he is larger than a lop dog, he does not know this and enjoys being on your lap.  Ralphie loves people, does well on the leash, and is very responsive to training.

Ralphie does try to scoot out the front door if you're not paying attention and needs coaxing to get back in. So it is recommended for him to have a fenced yard so he can have a way to run around and play and exercise.

Miniature Schnauzers are generally well-mannered and fun-loving dogs that make great additions to most families. They are loyal companions who are playful, curious, and alert, and love to be the center of attention.

Because of this tendency, they should be given constant kind engaging activity to be happy.

Because of their big personalities and need to be active, they will want to be involved in everything you and your family do. A Schnauzer will follow you around the house and never want to be left alone. This breed needs to know what you’re up to at all times.

GROOMING:  While most dogs only need to be groomed every few months, schnauzers require more frequent grooming – typically  every six weeks or so . This is due to their thick, double coat, which can become matted and tangled if not brushed regularly. In addition to regular brushing, schnauzers also need to have their nails trimmed regularly.
