Description:

FOSTER   UPDATE:   If you are new to Roxy's page, please note that when she was returned to us she was severely obese and hardly able to move or breathe. She came to us at 96.5 lbs. She is now down to the low 60s!

She looks and acts like a completely different dog from when we first got her. She was starting to lose her spunk again, and we noticed bleeding from her mouth. A LOT. So, off to the vet she went. She had her teeth cleaned and 13 pulled. Vet said her teeth were in the top 3, if not the WORST, he had ever seen on a large breed dog. She felt GREAT immediately after.

She plays now (when she feels like it). She barks excitedly for a new visitor to greet and love on her when they enter our home. SHE LOVES PEOPLE. She runs outside, and enjoys patrolling the yard, looking for deer and birds with her foster sister. Still shares kisses with her brother. She goes to bed early to ensure she gets her favorite dog bed.

She is a love and a gem. Truly she is. She is good with dogs, cats, and children of all ages. She prefers males over females. If you have a younger female who may want to play, she won't take to that too much. But her one experience with a male puppy was great. She played with him more than she's played with or tolerated any other dog to date.

She certainly is one special girl.

FOSTER    UPDATE:   This  beautiful   soul is really starting to look good and get her spunk back. She plays with her brother and foster sister, barks occasionally at the little dog next door in sheer excitement, and just genuinely seems HAPPY. When we picked her up, she was sweet and gentle...but no joy or mischief that I remembered her for as a tiny puppy and as a 2 year old (the last time we saw her). I partly attributed that to her age. But it's coming back. She tries to be sneaky with the baby's snacks, pure joy when trotting through the yard (before she loathed the backyard and the heat that came with it), and all the puppy wiggles we get when we come home. She is a love and a joy and I'm so excited to see her zest for life returning!
All things considered, she seems to actually be getting into really great health for her age. We are getting close to our 30 lb weightloss goal. When we reach that, she's going back to the vet to see what her numbers look like now!

FOSTER UPDATE
She's really starting to slim down. She isnt gasping for air 24/7. Started getting bouncy last week and "ran" for the first time yesterday!

Rockette, now called Roxy, was adopted by us 5 years ago, someone in the family due to medical treatment had to have the dog removed and  5 cats. She is totally overweight and now on a diet. This is a wonderful dog who wants love and attention, enjoys being with cats, dogs, and children. Roxy is such a mellow, eager to please dog who deserves a family as great as she is.
