Description:
Sweet Canny came to us from a high kill shelter with her seven babies. They were all very thin, covered in fleas, and needed immediate TLC. Canny was very nervous and cautious when she arrived. She was so scared, that when the staff would try to take her outside of her crate, she would put all of her body weight to the floor and hide her face. One of our staff members felt so sad for her she brought her home to foster her for a while before Canny was ready to be adopted. Here is what she has to say about Canny :

Foster update:
Having Canny in our home has been such a joy. Though she started out afraid of everything she now walks proudly though our home and out into the yard with her tail up and a smile on her face! I have a dog at home who is a little bit bigger than her and she has become his shadow following him from room to room and mimicking his movements. If she is not underneath our feet we can often find her curled up in the corner of whatever room we are in watching from a distance. She is very very sweet and gentle. Because of her lack of confidence, her best life would be with another dog in the house with her to reassure her. Canny must have a backyard with a fence because she is not comfortable going to the bathroom when she is on leash.
