Description:

S'More and siblings, along with their mom, Marshmallow, were pulled from a high kill shelter.  Marshmallow is a petite Cur mix who is super sweet! Her pups seem to all have her sweet persoanlity. They are all very sweet  and playful puppies and are available for adoption.

You might recognize this breed from the 1957 Disney film, Old Yeller, where Yeller was a Black Mouth Cur dog.

Curs have a strong drive to work and a desire to please their owners. Curs are loving and playful with their families but are protective of their homes and people. Owners should be up for socialize a Black Mouth Cur with lots of different people, animals, and situations in and outside the home. Curs are scent Hounds and use their nose, as well as their eyes and ears, to track and tree game. Smaller animals in the home may be seen as something for them to chase.

Curs are intelligent and strong (mind and body) and they need a dominant/pack order owner to train them properly. They must see their family as the ones in charge. This breed needs adequate time outside and plenty of exercise. They are not apartment or small condo dogs as they need ample space to roam, run and play in.

Black Curs make great family dogs for an active family with owners who have prior canine experience and are up for being the alpha leader in the home. Loyal and loving, Curs are a quiet Hound breed with lots of personality and beautiful coloring. These dogs make excellent outdoor companions and are happiest when with their families.
