Description:
Macho is one of a litter of puppies born at the end of January. Their momma, Gisele, was left pregnant, abandoned in a yard, when her owner moved. Fortunately someone brought her to the Brevard Shelter where she gave birth to seven puppies on January 26, four girls, three boys, all as cute as pie!

Foster Update: Macho is a lover and very curious as I'm sure most puppies are. He loves to play tug a war and wrestle. He also loves other dogs!!!!! He loves to greet you every time he sees you, he is all about attention, and do whatever to please you. He is a very happy, playful puppy, but also a cuddler. He sits and cuddles on your lap for his naps. He is extremely smart, easily trainable and food motivated! He is crate trained, he has very few accidents (none as of late in his crate), he lets you know when he has to go "out". He barks the least out of our pack. He loves bones to chew on. He can climb stairs, swims in our pool and is not afraid of much! He has been with our pack of small and large dogs since he was very young. He is very good with our 11 year old, he has been taught not to "chew" on hands, he does know the word "no" though he will try. He sleeps from 10pm until morning, he eats Natural Balance dry food twice a day. He has been with his brother since the beginning, so he may have some seperation "whining" from his brother which can be solved with the new owner's tshirt and a wind up alarm clock to simulate the heart. He also sleeps with a stuffed animal bear.

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
