Description:

Dog for a Day 3/23/19

She was very good in the car and stayed calm the whole time. She is sweet and gentle and enjoys runs and playing with toys. She's good with people and calm in public places with other dogs! She pulls when walking her though. She didn't bark at anything during the trip and knows how to sit on command.

3/7/19 Foster Update.     Zoey's foster Dad sent us a very information update which lets us know more about her personality and behaviors.    Does she sound like the right dog for you???!!    Here is her thoughts as to what she needs:

Big, fenced and secure yard just so she can have boundaries for her sprinting
No crating (she doesn't need it)
A way for her to let herself out (she is in and out the dog dor here over 20 times a day, no joke)
An owner that is home most of the time and willing to let Zoey follow them around (she needs a full time companion, at least right now).
A realization that Zoey defends the house...she's not good with strangers entering.  She needs reassurance and to get to know the new person.

She seems good with other dogs that are nice to her.  She doesn't back down from dogs that growl at her.  She's really smart and would benefit from fun training (not obedience training, she's pretty well behaved), I'm sure she is eager to please

01/28/2019 Zoey was returned to Pet Rescue by Judy.  Her previous owner felt that she was gone to many hours a day, leaving Zoey alone in her crate.   She stated that Zoey is good with certain dogs, what type we don't know, so we will evaluate her at the time of her meets if other dogs are in the home already.   She is house trained and good with children of all ages.  Like many dogs,  she will try to dig to get out of the yard so a secure fence is required.   Zoey had 6 weeks of training and enjoys going for walks and runs.  If you are interested in Zoey please put an application in.

Little Zoey was put on craigslist originally.  A nice family wanted to save her but soon realized they could not keep her.  They called us and yes, Zoey is finally safe.  As soon as Zoey came in she was right at home.  She is very friendly, was fine with the other dogs and very well mannered.  Her previous owner specified that she is good with cats, enjoys baths, likes children, very playful.  A family setting would be great for her.
