Fiona's Dog 4 a Day Update :  "First of all let me says thanks for letting me spend the weekend with Fiona. She is an absolute darling! You just fall in love with her right away because she's such a sweetheart! She was so well behaved and such a pleasure to have around. She puts a smile on your face for sure!

I hope she's finds the perfect loving forever home that she deserves. She's full of love and happiness to give too and someone will be blessed to have her.

I picked her up Saturday morning. She was a little reluctant to leave PRBJ and get in the car , but with some coaxing she did. She was a little nervous in the car at first, but curious too taking in the sights and sounds. When I got to my house she was again a little scared to get out of the car and go in my house so I had to carry her in. She's definitely a little nervous, timid, and apprehensive in new surroundings at first. But once in the house, I just let her walk around room to room until she was comfortable and relaxed. She did laps around the house for about 40 minutes, stopping by me ( I was sitting on the floor in the living room) each lap to get some pets and reassurance all was ok.
Once she was relaxed, the cat I was cat sitting walked by. Fiona was curious about the cat but not too interested in the cat at all. I believe she would be suitable for a household with cat(s). She's a spunky but gentle soul.

It was too hot to take her for a walk or outside to play so we just hung inside in the air conditioning and I think she was in heaven lounging on the sofa getting lots of attention and scratching from me on her sides and hind end...she loved that. I think she liked the peace and quiet too. Although it's very quiet, she's very curious about noises too like when my phone text alert would go off or the refrigerator making noise and the TV. So she has a curious side too.

Sunday I picked her up again. She was relaxed in the car this time and just enjoyed the ride and looking out the window. And she must have remembered my house because she made herself at home and remembered right where I had put the water for her. I bought her a little football to play with but she didn't have much interest in that. I gave her a pig ear to chew on but she didn't want that. I finally found something she really likes to do for fun....and that's play peek a boo with a towel or blanket. she really loved that. She got very frisky and excited and happy to play! It's then when her personality really started to come out and shine. But about 15 minutes of that and she was tuckered and ready for a little nap. So I put her on comfy couch and scratched her sides and hind end and pet her until she drifted off for a nap. she loves that too!!

Later I worked on commands with her ( Come, Sit, and Stay) using positive reinforcement. She did well with Sit....she may need some more work but she was Sitting on command. Come and Stay she will need some more time and training, but with some effort I know she will master them."

Fiona caught the eye of our vet tech at a high kill shelter.  She arranged for Fiona to come to Pet Rescue by Judy.  Fiona is a really sweet, strong minded dog.   She still needs help with her potty training.  She would enjoy sitting with you all day watching tv.   She is an old soul at heart, per our kennel staff.   If you have the time and patience to help her along with housetraining you will never regret it.   She is a beautiful girl.  Fiona is heartworm positive and has completed her slow kill method.   She will be tested again and we hope to see neg.  Literature will be supplied explaining the slow kill method that Pet Rescue by Judy uses.
