Abby and her siblings were rescued from a high kill shelter. Their mother had been dropped off with them at the pound and because their mama had a cold, were scheduled to be put down. This sweet puppies are so cute and full of love!

Abby is a beautiful and happy little  girl. She is very playful. She is well socialized. She is black and tan in color as is her mom.

We have been working with her to learn the command “no”. This is a continuing process. She is improving every day.

As all puppies her age ,she chews on ever thing, especially shoes strings, pant legs . She loves to play tug of  war with whatever you may have in your hands. Abby loves to play with toys especially thing that squeak and stuffed toys.

Abby is not leash trained.

She  sleeps in a crate with her siblings and  the bedding is dry. This is also a work in progress. I have paper trained the puppies. When they are in their area during the day they go outside to potty. At night ,they use the paper . Of course they may have an accident and miss the paper. They do well for a puppy their age.

She is fed Pedigree canned and dry dog food. Yogurt is added to their food in the evening. She loves the yogurt.I give them a ½ cup od dry food and add a couple of spoons of canned food. They love that as well. I  use soft Milkbone as a treat. Sometimes a give them some dry food at noon.

Abby likes to chew on your ears if she can. She enjoys playing in the yard with her siblings.

She will give a person lot of  love and attention. She is looking for a loving and caring family who will give her lots of love.

***According to dogbreedinfo.com, in April 1899, Capt. Max von Stephanitz registered a dog named Horan as the first Deutsche Schäferhunde, which means German Shepherd Dog in English. Known for their tremendous loyalty and courage, they are calmly confident, but not hostile. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when it is necessary. Serious and almost human in his intelligence, they have a high learning ability. The breed is so intelligent and learns so readily that it has been used as a sheepdog, guard dog, in police work, as a guide for the blind, in search and rescue service, and in the military. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. A quick daily brushing is best unless hair in the house is not a problem. They should be bathed rarely, only once or twice a year to avoid skin oil depletion. Shepherds have a life expectancy around 13 years.
