Foster Update:  Destin is a very friendly little girl. She is very playful. She will let you hold her and she covers you with kisses. She is a happy dog. She loves to play in the yard with her siblings. When in  the  house, she wants to be  with you.

Destin is very happy to be with her siblings. She is very playful. She likes to be held and likes to kiss you a lot.  She loves playing in the yard and with our other dogs. Amber, our Rottweiler, has adopted her and plays with her a lot.  She loves to eat anything.

Foster Update 05/20/11: Destin is a  happy little girl. She weighs 16lbs and is 11 inches at the shoulder. She is always very busy running around and playing with her brother, Bristol. She loves to play with the other dogs in our family. Amber ,our Rottie, has adopted her and loves to play with her and mothers her as well.  She is always full of energy .She naps at times during the day. At night ,she sleeps in the crate at night with the door open.

Pedigree dry dog food, about one cup, mixed with i/2 cup of canned ,Pedigree, dog food are mixed together with 2 tablespoons of  plain yogert and given twice a day .   I will give a small portion of dry food in between feedings. I use Soft and Chewy Milkbone  and Pup-peperoni as a treats.
Puppies will eat all day.

Destin responds to any situation very quickly. She is very observant of our surroundings.

At this age, she chews on anything she can get her mouth on. She enjoys shoes, shocks , toys, paper  whether she in  the yard or in the house

Destin loves everybody. Her tail continually wags. She follows me everywhere . She responds to my whistling for her to come . She responds to ‘Come Puppy’ for her to come as well. She  enjoys walking on a leash and riding in a car.

Destin also will urinate and deficate outside when the door is open to the outside. She will use the  training  pads, most of the time, at night. She is not completely housebroken . Patience is the name of the  game with puppies.

She enjoys being petted . She will let you pick her up ,but she won’t stay on your lap very long. I have been working in obedience with “no and “come’. Again, patience is the name of the game with puppies.

Foster Update 05/28/11: She is doing much better with her potty training. She will still have accidents inside occasionally. She will start sniffing around and so I  put her outside and she will eventually go. She also spends a lot of the day outside in the yard with the other dogs playing . I usually leave the screen ajar and the pups go in and out of the house. This works well for me. They love being outside.  She is a very happy dog . Our Rottie, Amber has adopted her and plays with her a lot. Destin can jump on the  couch. She  does not come to you to hold her very often. When you call her she will come toward you and then turn away to play.. When she is in your lap ,you will get a lot of kisses.  She loves to walk on a leash and ride in the car. She will need to go to puppy  school for training. These are held at Petsmart one  day a week..   She is a really sweet little girl.

Foster Update 06/03/11: She  is the sweetest little  girl. She  is a happy, go lucky and  growing  girl. She now weighs  22 lbs  . She  is approx. 15 inches tall at the  shoulder.
Her color remains unchanged. Her coat is  course in texture.

She has  a  moderate to high energy level most of the time. This  depends on what she is doing. She plays with our dogs  a lot during the  day.
She also has  frequent periods  of naps during the day. This is a common trait of dogs.  She  is ready to sleep at night between 9-10:00 . She  sleeps in my laundry room. She  is let outside  around 5:00 am to go to the  bathroom. There are no messes in the  laundry room to clean up. She loves to  run in the  yard . She  can jump  pretty high. She  loves to ride  in the  car, but cannot  jump  into the car. I  take her  for walks on  the leash which  she really enjoys .

Currently, she follows commands of no and  come most of the time.  She comes  to you  when you call her name, whistle for her and also call ‘come puppy’. I am her  “mommy” and she follows me  everywhere and enjoys my playing with her. She  does not let you know when she needs to go outside to use the  bathroom. I make sure she goes outside periodically .

Desitin  loves to chew on  everything  . This is common  with puppies. I will tell no and  she  stops. They will try again if they can. They like anything that is  hanging such as  electric cords, ropes and anything  laying on the  floor. She  is curious about everything in her environment.

She  is a very good eater. I feed her Pedigree puppy food, both dry and canned.  I mix1/2 cup dry  with 1/3 of canned  with 2 tbs. plain yogert
two times a day. I give her snacks periodically throughout the day.  We use Milkbone dog biscuits,  Pup Peperoni and other soft treats . Dogs will eat all day if  you let them.

WE really enjoy her company. She  is a happy and funny little  dog. She is friendly with  everybody  she meets. We hope she finds a home with someone who loves her, has patience, and hopefully a yard . She has a lot to learn yet. Petsmart has a puppy class that can be helpful in teaching her commands. There is material that can be gotten for Pet Training.
