3/11/2018 DOG 4 A DAY UPDATE:

I had a great day yesterday with Alexander.  He got to play for a while with some doggies and just wanted to run around and play. He did not have any issues with them and actually came and sat by me if he was a little shy.  We also worked on “sit” with some treats and he did well.   After playing around I took him for a bath. He tried to get out a couple of times but otherwise was very calm and let me wash him and his ears too. He initially did not seem like he wanted his feet touched but I put the towel around them and rubbed and he was fine.  After the bath I took Alexander for a meet n greet with my doggie.  He enjoyed riding in my truck and sat on my boyfriend’s lap.  She is a typical Chihuahua and was protective of me. He just wanted to play and would bow down and run around and bark lol. I will say he has a loud bark so maybe someone who lives in an apartment is not the best place.  When my dog was not around he laid down and closed his eyes.

After an hour or so at my house we went to the Breezeway restaurant to eat. He had his legs in the back of my truck and his paws up front on the console. He liked looking out the window and being close.  At the restaurant everybody loved him and he let them stroke him. Everyone loved his soft fur and said he was so cute!  He did seem a little apprehensive with the band playing and when motorcycles went by he got jumpy. But I’m thinking  this is probably because he hasn’t seen them before. Once the band stopped he relaxed again and laid down. I think he was tired.  After dinner we went for a short walk around Sanford. He walked well on the leash and would just want to explore a little bit to the side but came right back to me. Alexander was startled by some boys and their skateboards but again probably because he hasn’t seen them before.   He would look behind to make sure I was there.

Alexander is still a puppy and can get distracted but he is very well behaved.  He liked running around and chased me and my boyfriend. I think he will respond well to training. He did not have any accidents and pooped once and peed twice on the grass (once when we first left Judy’s and then when we left the restaurant). Alexander is such a cute dog with his white fur and little freckles! He loves attention and kisses! If we get him again next weekend we will work on “sit” and “stay” etc.  And yes we had to take lots of pictures as he is so adorable!

03/08/2018:  Hi, My name is Alexander.   I am originally a Pet Rescue by Judy dog.   Me and my siblings all got adopted.   I was just returned to the rescue.   My dad lost his job and they just could not take care of me anymore.
My family did call me Alex.   I usually get up at 6 a.m. and go right out to go potty.   I am just about housetrained.  I love children.  I enjoy going outside with them playing ball. A fenced in backyard is adviseable since he has so much energy and loves to run.   He would also benefit with some leash training while walking.   My family did supply my new family with a note updating them with information about me.  If you wish to meet me please put an application in for me.   I would love to meet you.

Meet Alexander!  Alexander and siblings were transported to PRBJ from a high kill shelter; all of these puppies are very sweet and playful.  Their owner surrendered them because there were nine puppies, which were too many for them to care for.

We have also enclosed a photo on the bottom of what the dad looks like (he is just about 40 lbs.)
