Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Quartz

Molly and Bronco say hi!  They are growing up so quick.  Since Bronco doesn’t like his picture taken here is one of my son McLaren putting his sweatshirt on Molly .

We are absolutely in love with him. He and fawn are best friends already and absolutely in love… playing and even sharing toys with each other. He is such a sweetheart and just wants love from us!

Queenie

Emma suggested Queenie to us after we met Harper.

Turns out Queenie now known as Bella was the perfect pup for us!

She’s so sweet, eager to play, give kisses & be buddies with Reagan.

It’s been 5 days and we’re head over heels in love with her

Queen Belle the Munsterlander

For a dog raised in a kennel, Belle is pretty smart. She can open my drawers and cabinets in the kitchen which has caused me to modify where I store her snacks. She can get a drink of toilet water even though I keep the lids down. She loves clearing the cat’s food off the kitchen counter. She has sofa privileges and with a lot of effort can pull herself up onto my bed. This happened once after I had stripped the bed. I found her on top having a great time pulling foam out of the foam topper. Luckily, I found her fairly quickly. The neighbors’ grandkids were here last week and she just loved it. They rubbed her belly, played hide and seek and shot her flying duck through the air to be retrieved. I have not yet heard her growl at anyone. I walk her in the woods on a leash or in the neighborhood. She loves walks. When she smells something in the woods and goes into hunting mode, she is just beautiful. Her tail goes out, the ears go up, and there is a spring in her step without any limping. She absolutely loves water. Water pig would be a good description. Hope you all don’t miss her too much. Georgia 12/16/13 UPDATE A quick update on Belle: After two years her weight is down to 59 lbs, not too bad considering her snacking in my refrigerator. The first photo is of her showing off retrieving her alligator at friends’ home for my sisters who were visiting. The second dog is my sister’s Munsterlander, also something of a rescue. The second photo is the baby lock I put on my refrigerator to keep Belle out. Hope your mission to rescue critters is going well. Georgia
